Candidates should be compelling educational practitioners confident in their capacity to create and deliver a dynamic, engaging, and challenging curriculum to high school students. Qualified candidates should have the capacity to teach introductory and advanced courses to a range of students. In addition to their teaching assignments, all faculty are expected to contribute to the school community. As an IB world school, each faculty member is trained in the curriculum and delivery of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). Qualifications Candidates should submit a resume and cover letter highlighting their qualifications in the following areas: Requires an undergraduate degree in the relevant field; a Master's degree is strongly preferred. Ability to teach introductory and advanced laboratory sciences in Biology and Chemistry. 3-5 years of relevant classroom teaching experience, with prior AP and IB teaching experience strongly preferred. Effective leadership, communication skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Confidence and creativity in developing and delivering courses, including IBDP and AP courses. Excellent writing and communication skills. History of collegiality and collaboration with colleagues and administrators. Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners. Innovative, flexible teaching style. Understanding of student developmental needs and effective learning strategies. Experience with instructional technology tools such as iPads, laptops, and Google Apps. Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive. Strong teamwork skills and professionalism. Experience in independent schools is strongly preferred. Physical Requirements Regular lifting or carrying 1-20 lbs. Physical activities including pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling. Climbing stairs regularly. Sitting or standing for 4-8 hours. Work performed on campus is required. ** Denotes essential functions of the position.
