Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented Optical Sales Associate to join our team. As an Optical Sales Associate, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing outstanding service and assisting them in selecting the perfect eyewear to meet their visual needs and personal style. You will play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming environment while achieving sales goals and contributing to the overall success of our optical practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and determine their eyewear needs and preferences.
  • Assist customers in selecting frames, considering their lifestyle, prescription, and aesthetic preferences.
  • Explain lens options, features, and benefits, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Accurately take measurements, including pupillary distance (PD) and segment height.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling payments and insurance claims.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of current eyewear trends, brands, and lens technologies.
  • Assist with frame inventory management, including receiving, displaying, and organizing eyewear.
  • Perform minor frame adjustments and repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment.
  • Schedule appointments for eye exams and frame selections.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate effectively with the optometry team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and participate in training sessions.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
  • Previous retail sales experience, preferably in an optical setting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Knowledge of eyewear products, lens types, and insurance plans is a plus.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
