Job Description

We are seeking a driven and analytical Junior Data Scientist to join a fast-paced, mission-focused team supporting data analysis, visualization, financial management, process improvement, and workforce development initiatives. In this role, you will apply advanced data science methodologies and machine learning techniques to extract actionable insights from large-scale datasets, enabling smarter decision-making across critical operations.

Youll be expected to work in an Agile environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges and deliver forward-thinking solutions using Python and other modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute data science methodologies using Python libraries for data cleaning/wrangling, exploratory data analysis (EDA), statistical modeling, and visualization.


2. Apply machine learning techniques, including clustering, forecasting, natural language processing (NLP), and graph analytics, to analyze structured and unstructured datasets.


3. Support research efforts to develop actionable intelligence and leadership insights through data integration and advanced analytics.


4. Develop and maintain data visualizations, dashboards, and tools to communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.


5. Identify process inefficiencies and support improvements through analytics, automation, and algorithmic solutions.


6. Contribute to assessments of new technologies and systems to enhance data protection and reduce exposure to cyber threats.


7. Work collaboratively in an Agile development environment with regular deliverables and team interactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.


2. Active Secret clearance required.


3. 3+ years of experience applying supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms.


4. 3+ years of experience with artificial intelligence technologies and natural language processing (NLP).


5. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python, AI/ML, Palantir.


6. Strong understanding of data science workflows, including EDA, model development, and evaluation.


7. Ability to communicate complex data findings in a clear, concise, and actionable format to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience supporting DoD, intelligence, or federal government data environments.


2. Familiarity with visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI.


3. Experience working in cross-functional or interdisciplinary teams focused on strategic data use.
